Marie Curie’s research and theory on radioactivity made her the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her work; and did you know she was the first person (man or woman) to win it TWICE?!  In addition to her team’s theory of radioactivity, she discovered two elements and paved the way for women in scientific careers. Marie Curie reminds us that being a woman and a scientist are not mutually exclusive.
